Terms of Use

English translation of the current Portuguese document. Account acceptance records the source document’s version and hash.
These Terms govern accounts, profiles, Book Universes, Living Books, social features, digital reading, publishing and commercial operations on Literunico.
1. Platform operator
Literunico is operated by Literunico, registered under Brazilian CNPJ 43.408.163/0001-10, at Rua Professor Belfort Roxo, 410, Vila Pereira Barreto, São Paulo/SP, postal code 02936-030, Brazil. The official channel for support and requests is Contact us.
2. Accounts, capacity and security
- Provide truthful information, maintain legitimate accounts that belong to you, and protect your password and access credentials.
- Creating accounts on behalf of others, impersonation, bypassing suspensions and unauthorised automated registration are prohibited.
- People without full legal capacity must use the service with a guardian’s representation or assistance as applicable. Accounts and experiences for children and teenagers are subject to additional safeguards and their best interests.
- Literunico may request confirmation of identity, age, authorship, ownership or representation when needed for security, legal compliance or the exercise of rights.
3. Account features
An account may include a public profile, posts, comments, messages, communities, a library, reading, authorship, co-authorship, sales, purchases, editorial services, events, rewards and experimental features. Availability varies by profile, work, country, device and stage of implementation.
4. Content and copyright
- You retain the rights you hold in texts, images, audio, video and other uploaded content.
- By publishing, you grant Literunico a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, limited to the time and purposes necessary to host, technically reproduce, adapt formats, display, distribute within the platform, promote the corresponding public page, and operate backups and moderation.
- Publication does not transfer authorship, economic rights or exclusivity unless a separate agreement provides otherwise.
- You declare that you hold the required permissions and respect third-party copyright, image, voice, trademark, privacy and personality rights.
- Public content may appear in search engines and AI-assisted discovery. This does not give third parties unrestricted permission to train models or change ownership of the content.
5. Conduct, community and moderation
Fraud, harassment, threats, sexual exploitation, hate speech, improper exposure of personal data, rights violations, malware, spam, artificial metric manipulation and illegal activity are prohibited. Literunico may reduce reach, remove content, restrict features, preserve evidence, suspend accounts and notify authorities when needed, considering context, seriousness, recurrence and applicable rights.
6. Book Universes, reading and digital access
- A Book Universe may bring together chapters, editions, materials, community, purchased or granted access and activities related to the work.
- Unless expressly stated otherwise, a digital purchase grants a personal licence for controlled reading on the platform; it does not include downloadable EPUB or PDF files.
- The specific offer must state the price, duration, included chapters, restrictions and update policy.
- Tracking read chapters and sharing that information with an author or rights holder depend on the controls presented to the user. Identifiable sharing remains off by default where the feature states this.
7. Living Books and identified copies
- Each identified copy may have its own page, QR code, timeline, ownership and reading history, and offers.
- The holder decides whether their identity is public for each period of ownership. Without permission, the page must display only an initial, without a name or profile link.
- This choice remains in the history after a transfer. Upon account deletion, the identity stops being public, but the recorded initial may remain to preserve the copy’s historical continuity.
- Photos, text or facts published by the user may identify them even when their name is hidden. Users seeking privacy should avoid identifying details.
- Accepting these Terms does not replace or extend specific permissions for identity, reading or disclosure. Those choices remain independent and can be changed through the available controls.
8. Transfers, offers and sales of copies
- The holder may enable or disable public offers for a copy. An accepted offer or invitation does not by itself prove payment, shipment or delivery.
- Paid operations must distinguish agreement, payment, shipment and receipt. Free transfers may follow a simplified process.
- The parties must confirm the item’s condition, price, shipping, recipient identity and other conditions before completion.
- Specific marketplace, payment, refund and consumer-protection rules apply where presented at purchase.
9. Purchases, sales, wallets and services
Prices, fees, commissions, payouts, deadlines, shipping, taxes and cancellation conditions must appear in the applicable flow. Wallet balances or credits are not automatically equivalent to bank deposits and follow the product’s rules. These Terms do not limit mandatory rights under Brazil’s Consumer Protection Code.
10. Artificial intelligence and automation
AI features may assist research, recommendations, writing, classification, accessibility and moderation. Results may contain errors and should be reviewed before important decisions. Users remain responsible for content they choose to publish. Automated decisions with significant effects must allow challenge or review when required by law.
11. Privacy and communications
Data processing is explained in the Privacy Policy. Essential security, transaction and account communications form part of the service. Marketing and other optional uses require a separate choice when based on consent and may be declined or withdrawn without preventing basic account use.
12. Account deletion, preservation and merging
- Users may request deletion through the available controls. Some records may be retained for legal compliance, fraud prevention, defence of rights, financial integrity and historical continuity, with minimisation or anonymisation.
- Account merging requires identity and conflict checks. It must preserve the most private choice, transaction history, and the integrity of possessions, offers, reading and publications. It may be refused when ownership is uncertain.
- Deletion or merging does not erase third-party rights or make genuine historical transactions cease to exist.
13. Availability, security and responsibility
We seek to keep the service available and secure, but maintenance, failures, third-party outages and technical changes may occur. Literunico does not guarantee commercial results, reach, sales, prizes or the continued availability of experimental features. Liability limitations do not apply where prohibited by law.
14. Changes to these Terms
Each version has its own date and hash. Material changes may require renewed acceptance before continued use. The accepted version is recorded with its date, source and minimised technical evidence.
15. Applicable law and contact
Brazilian laws apply. Legally competent jurisdiction will be respected, including the consumer’s place of residence where applicable. Questions, reports and requests may be submitted through the official contact channel.
