A Smart Boy's Logic
"Look up to the sky",
His father asked him one night,
"and tell me what you see".
'There are many small lights',
The son quickly replied,
'blinking upon that huge black screen'.
The father then pointed upwards
And explained in stiff belief:
"it may looks like so, but it's not.
There's no canvas but emptiness and cold.
Those flickering lights we see a lot
Are truly Suns, white-hot and bold!
Each may be bigger than our Sun
With its own set of Earths and Moons.
Think about: isn't it fun
To know Earth isn't alone in the room?"
'Wow, that's amazing, dad,'
The child said, surprised and awed,
'but how can you know such things?'
"By reading a bunch of books, my lad.
It's amazing how much you can learn
When reading what's within."
The boy then sat in deep silence
As reviewing everything he heard.
With frowned frown and guided guidance
He kept the teachings deep in mind.
But then, at once, and suddenly,
Standing up in a jump
Looking at his father in front of him
An idea came in a thump.
He happily said to the older man:
'Great news, dad! I know what to do!
We'll continue to look to the sky!
With luck we may see Superman
Gliding through those clouds up high!
Or Pegasus, with his mighty white wings
Chasing a gargoyle in pursuit!
Or maybe a fast flying disc
Yearning to make contact to us!'
"But my son, these things aren't real,"
His father complied in serious tone:
"these mythic beings are not really at hand."
'Of course they are! I know how to prove!
I have a whole bookshelf of them!'
