Reflection on life made at some early dawn
(Old poems 012)
It is a poem with sonnet structure, torn in half by reveries and explanations. Everything properly rhymed, despite the fluidity of the stanza that was stuck there, in the middle...
You wish all men to be brothers,
And peace was possible? You wish
That there should be no more deaths by the hands,
And what, anyway, were we all the same?
You wish the wars were for peace,
For the conversion of harlots, Pagans;
That we were free, happy, Christians?
You desire much; you desire too much.
. Life doesn't give us a chance, no matter how small we may be,
. To enter and invade their realms, it is she who
. It guides us; and it's no use even thinking about wanting
. Diglate against what is stronger for us: We're out.
. No chance - we barely stand on our feet.
. Who are you? You, to find you more important
. That life itself, that blows us? Who are you? Who are you?
. Are you God? You are nothing; you are of life a brief infant.
You desire what you are not allowed to dream:
This is your shameful sin.
You desire everything when you should only wish
Live without wishing to be saved or condemned:
You have nothing to do but wait
And live, in your own way, be it right or wrong.
