The Intentions
(Old poems)
I tried not to see you again.
I left your environment,
I stopped going to the places you used to go,
And I thought I'd been successful for almost a lifetime.
But I couldn't. Fate came, master of coincidences,
To rescue in me the sweet memory of your eyes.
I tried not to get involved,
Not paying attention, not caring what you said;
I tried to understand that you were no longer the same, neither were I.
And I thought it was going really well.
But I was a failure to control myself by feeling you
So helpless and in need of my good words.
I tried to take advantage of a situation
When you were fragile and needy,
To also heal me from my weaknesses and needs,
To strengthen myself without caring about you.
But it was impossible for me from the beginning, because I realized
How much more important you were to me than myself.
So I tried to make you suffer,
Which would be easy, for you were already suffering without me...
Unconsciously, I tried to disappoint you to the point.
Giving up on me and not ruining your life.
But all I could do was make you happier.
In this whirlwind of unhappiness that was about your days.
I tried not to see you again and I had a hole in my chest for a long time.
I tried not to enter your life and ended up breaking into the doors of your soul.
I tried to leave you with your life and all I could do was give us the hope of a new life.
I tried to make you suffer and all I could do was make you happy. And me, even more so.
I looked in vain. All I could do was love you more and more.
Yeah, so be it.
