At night all cats are brown
I saw today that the theme was #Felino...
And I remembered my first essay at school when I was 11. She got compliments from all the teachers, and that's where I realized that she had the ability to write (and that she wanted to be a writer one day). The theme of the essay was "Fear" and the title was suggested by the textbook.
I hope they're relieving puerile mistakes and the superficiality of an 11-year-old boy from the '80s...
At night all cats are brown
I was wandering around the streets of the city that cold, scary night, that the weak moonlight and the precarious lighting of the poles tried to disguise. I was shaking. I decided it was time to go home. The night, however, inevitably invited me to walk a little longer. But it was resisting that I came home. My parents had gone to a party, and my sister, like every Friday night, had a movie with the, or one of her boyfriends. I was alone. I lay down on the bed, looked at the picture that usually stands in front of me and realized that the landscape reflected a green field full of trees. It reminded me: I had made a beautiful day that morning! The picture, which shone on the street light, annoyed me more and more.
For good, it started raining. And the rain that fell insistently pushed the mormasse further into my room. I turned off the light and tried to sleep. I turned to the side, to the other side, face down, face up. ..and nothing. Suddenly, when I look forward, I see...two eyes!!! I froze. Two eyes shining like two diamonds in the night and nothing else I saw. But in a bang, I saw something even scarier: a body hidden by a veil!!! Yes, a small body covered with a veil or something that was near the light switch. I thought: "Who knows if I get up, turn on the light and be able to see clearly what scares me, maybe I can take it easy." Okay. And where's the nerve to get to the switch with that being guarding it?
I was terrified. Never in my life did I think of having "immediate first-degree contacts" with a UFO that I didn't even know what it was. Those eyes blinked and looked coldly at me. That being moved in such a way as to impress me. In lightning, I screamed: I opened my eyes. I opened it and I saw some kind of light window in front of me on the wall. A window I had never seen before that gave to another world and beyond it I saw nothing; only a very strong light. Terrified, that's how I was. The eyes, the body, the window, the light... Yes, the light! Sure! The window light!!!
I grew up with courage, got up out of bed, got to the switch and turned on the light. I lit and laughed at the nonsense my head had invented: that body was just a white towel that I always left on the door handle, and, being this round, it really resembled a body. This window was the picture of the field that, reflecting the light coming from the street, through the window, shone, and the eyes... well, the eyes were really eyes. Eyes of a cat, black or brown, who ran off, jumping out the window, right after I turned on the light...
