All in good time
This is a poem I made for my wife, as soon as we (re) met.
I – Past
I want you today like 20 years ago.
As if we had never separated;
As if it were possible to go back in time and correct
Every time I didn't show myself,
Every time I shut up,
All the kisses I didn't steal out of fear.
I want you today like I never wanted you.
Like I never thought you'd want anyone.
Since I never dared to,
In my silly teen experience,
In my child wanting to make-believe,
In my younger boy life.
I want you the way I always thought I would.
As I've always wanted, as I've always wanted.
I want you like I can't want someone who already has someone who wants you.
But I want you still, because I know
That no one will want you as much as I do.
I want you mine. I want you here.
I want you as I want myself; I need you
I want your kisses, your body, your love
I want your thoughts on me
Weighing and resting on me
Light as the weight of your eyes the color of the water.
I tuoi occhi di colore dall acqua.
I want to be yours. Anyway. Finally. No further delay.
I want to finally show you
That if before I was a boy I'd never deserve you
Today I'm a man who's never deserved you so much.
II – Present
sonnet in verse:
There is, in your eyes, a universe;
There is an ocean of beauty and tenderness
Which I can't express in prose or verse:
There is Love in your eyes, in pure form.
There's so much sweetness in your eyes
♪ Who lights me up in blue and puts me inside ♪
In anxieties of love; and it appears
Topaz where I get lost.
There are, in your eyes, distant times,
Years past, fresh in memory;
There are memories of dreams and moments
From a time when the world served us
From the cradle of encounters and hope
Anxieties and fears, and joy.
prose sonnet:
No, it's not the poem that's beautiful;
He's not handsome because of me.
He being handsome is not my merit.
It's yours.
You're special. You're beautiful.
And you have no idea how much...
Beauty is not in the poem:
It's in you.
The poem is nothing; it's just
My attempt to show the paper
All the beauty that's already in you...
The poem is only a shadow:
You're the light, you're the glow.
You're the real poetry.
III – Future
Will it work? Aren't you? I don't know.
Our lives will tell us. The rest
I don't know. I just don't know.
I'll let it all happen, I'll feel you every day
Every letter, every word, every breath...
I'm not letting you out of here anymore.
Life! You'll finally be good to me!
At last I will be hers, and I will be happy!
Nothing else I ask, nothing more I deserve; that's all I want.
Come, Angel, be mine.
Set these crystals in me,
In the eyes, calming that vain soul.
This one.
