Sleep...
Ancient Poems 005
Ah! The silly poems of youth - that go and come back to us to write things that make sense again!...
Sleep...
When you lie down, I will be your robe
Cover you whole, and hold you.
When you sleep, it will be me, with such charm,
The dream beautiful and deep; and thus,
In this dream, I'll be the brave hero,
Who then saves you from the clutches of evil
And within you pain destroys
Finally, you really love me.
And so, when you wake up delighted
From this dream, perfect fairy tale,
Note the light entering through the window:
For I too shall be the brightness of desire
Who invades your room and kisses you,
And that shines, like the sun, your beautiful face.
