And here she comes, RESEARCH!
First, I would like to inform you of my revolt at the fact that I have finished reading all of Ca's books and now I'm waiting for new releases.
Second of all, despite the very strong triggers that "A Christmas Gift Love" woke me up, I keep saying that it is a book to warm the heart. You're already on your list to read in December.
Starting from the trope of forced coexistence, we have a couple formed by Mauricio and Liana sharing, in addition to the same roof, sad and difficult life stories. The way these experiences reverberated in each one, however, is different: Maurice indulges in pain and neglects several aspects of his life, falling into drink and depression. Liana has the attitude to raise her head and face difficulties, taking advantage of any chance to escape the harsh reality of which she was victim. The encounter of these opposites is composed of deeply human moments, narrated with mastery and sensitivity that mark the prose of Ca. Not that she shows a romanticized world, no, quite the opposite: I keep saying she's mean to her characters. But the way to deal with their suffering makes us feel that we are there, before those people (who look like flesh and blood!), creates an empathy that unites reader and character, which intertwines us.
Anyway, no surprise to say it's another great book by the versatile author, plus a charming couple living their own story. We cannot fail to mention the secondary ones that are also great and provide the necessary comic relief.
Summary: READ.
