When the heart calls - Part II
— You look beautiful! Clara turned slowly to face him with curiosity. The singer frowned briefly with the possibility of being cheeky, but when the girl smiled tenderly, she felt that the brightness of the moon now spread throughout her interior, and not only through the room.
— I know who you are. I hear it on the radio sometimes.
— Do you like music? - Rafael came a little closer, Clara lowered her sights, did not like to face people.
— I love music. I love how they can touch people, even when they're away.
— And do you like my music? — The girl smiled openly, but the young man could not tell if it was a debauchery or compliment, but felt a slight void in the chest when the cousin denied with her head.
— No? — Frustration followed her tone while Clara denied it one more time — would it be very stupid of me to ask why? — The musician narrowed his eyebrows in expectation of a plausible response, Clara seemed to count the stars in the air, looking fascinated to the illuminated sky.
— The letters... they have no soul.
Rafael released the air trapped in his lungs, surprised by the honest and objective response. He blinked a few times, trying to assimilate the weight of her words, knew they weren't untruths.
— What do you think they should be like? Clara turned her attention to Rafael and took two steps, getting very close to him. His eyes met and the singer was hypnotized by the bright green eyes. Clara stretched her palm over his chest at heart level. He sighed hard.
— They have to come from here... from the bottom. Then you'll touch people.
Rafael could not explain, but the girl's presence aroused long lost sensations and as if she were involved in a magnetic field, wanted to be closer and closer to her. I needed to find out more. In an impulse, he put his hand over hers for a second, an electricity cutting off his entire body. They were in a silent conversation with their eyes and when the boy mentioned leaning towards the thin, pink lips, his warning beep whistled, calling him to reality.
- Mariana!
Rafael entered the room he shared with his sister in a crash, his heart pressed to see the difficulty she had to breathe.
— Easy! I'm here, Mari! It'll pass. — spoke, manipulating the spare air cylinder for the sister's safe exchange. He sighed relieved when he accompanied her breathing back to normal gradually.
After a few minutes, Mariana went back to sleep and Rafael returned to the room, hoping to resume the conversation with Clara, but only found the atmosphere empty.
You woke up earlier than you used to and didn't even bother to have coffee. Armed with his guitar, he went outside to clear his mind. He needed a quiet place where he could put out the words that kept bubbling in his mind after dreaming of the mysterious young woman from the night before.
He began the first notes and involuntarily felt a relief dominating his whole heart. He had written the letter as soon as he woke up before the first rays of sunshine. As the melody grew, Rafael felt different from when he recorded the songs imposed by the label. I knew I'd definitely shoot you in the dark, but something inside your heart said that song would be the reborn of your career. I was grateful to have found Clara, because without her help, perhaps she would remain in the same looping of mediocre songs, but she was very successful with the audience. He felt like a real artist now.
He's back invigorated. Marina drank coffee and smiled as she visualized her brother's bright face.
— Did you see a green bird? Where did you go so early?
— I finished the song, - He spoke exultant, in an atypical happiness of years - It's going to be a burst, sis - he said, kissing the top of his sister's head — Where's Uncle?
— He left a few minutes ago, he had to go somewhere, but I don't know where.
— And Clara? - She questioned biting a toast.
— Who?
- Clara, our cousin. Have you come for coffee? I need to thank her for being an inspiration. — Rafael joined his eyebrows when the maid exchanged a confused look with Marina. - What?
— The boy will excuse you, but Miss Clara has been in the hospital for a year. It's her birthday today.
Rafael felt his chest sink a ton, the club left the musician bewildered for a few seconds. How could the young woman be hospitalized when they talked last night? Did your own uncle confirm she didn't leave the room? I didn't understand anything, but I didn't want to look crazy in front of the whole situation.
— If she's in the hospital, why did my uncle say yesterday that she barely leaves the room and that even meals she does in there?
— Your uncle was always sure that his daughter's spirit remained here. He says he sees her sometimes. He hasn't lost hope for her to wake up at any time.
— I need to see her. Which hospital?
Go on...
